How We Grow as Discples of Jesus

Jesus invites us to follow Him in a way that transforms every part of life — our habits, relationships, purpose, and the way we show up in the world. At Centerpoint, the Apprenticeship Path is how we help each person take clear, meaningful steps in that journey.

Our vision is a renewed city through a renewed people (Jeremiah 29:7). The Apprenticeship Path equips us for that renewal by guiding us into three connected areas of growth:

Living on Mission

Joining God’s work in the world

Practicing the Way Groups

Practicing the Way Groups are an 8-week group-based experience designed to help get you started on the journey of spiritual formation, help you get unstuck if you’ve stalled out, or just guide you into taking your next step. Ultimately, its goal is to train you to live as an apprentice of Jesus: to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did.

PRACTICING THE

WAY

Through intentional spiritual rhythms, like prayer, Scripture, Sabbath, community, and more, we learn to center our lives on Jesus and be formed into His likeness.

Ways to engage:
• Join an 8-week Practicing the Way group
• Read Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer
• Listen to the Practicing the Way podcast
• Use tools at practicingtheway.org (Rule of Life Builder, Spiritual Health Reflection, etc.)

Called and Gifted

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Each follower of Jesus has been called to do good works in the world. A call is not just for pastors and missionaries but for every apprentice of Jesus. You have a call. God has given you everything you need to live into and fulfill your calling to reveal the kingdom of God and renew your sphere of influence as a student, mom, lawyer, park ranger, or artist.

Called & Gifted at Centerpoint Church seeks to come alongside each attendee and help them discern the good works, the call, that God has for them and then help them step into it.

Every follower of Jesus has a calling, not just pastors or missionaries. In Called & Gifted, you explore your gifts, passions, and experiences to discern who God is inviting you to love and serve in this season of life.

Called and Gifted

LIVING ON MISSION

Following Jesus means showing up with purpose in your home, neighborhood, workplace, and city. Living on Mission helps you take your calling into the world and join God’s work of renewal wherever you are.

We would love to meet with you to talk about where you can practically step into fulfilling the Great Comission in the spaces where God has placed you.

There is no set order. These three steps work together to help you follow Jesus more fully — growing spiritually, building community, and living out your purpose in real ways.
