The name RISE is inspired by John 5, where Jesus meets a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. With love and compassion, Jesus speaks life into him: “Rise, take up your mat and walk.” This powerful moment brings hope and transformation. At RISE, we believe everyone is called to rise into the life God has for them - full of love, joy, and purpose in Christ. 

Every part of the RISE logo tells a story! The sunrise stands for new beginnings, joy, and hope—capturing our heart to help individuals with disabilities and their families look to a bright future. The heart at the center reflects the love of Christ, which is the heartbeat of everything we do. Even the font was chosen with purpose—the unique “S” shows forward motion, representing our passion to lead and be game changers in disability ministry.

Our first RISE event was on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 – Jillian’s 18th birthday. Curtis and Danielle, the co-founders of RISE, could think of no better way to celebrate this key milestone for their daughter than to launch a ministry of friendship, faith, and hope for a bright future. We held a mass birthday party, with the 14 friends who attended as our guests of honor. Party favors, cake, piñata, games, and, of course, singing Happy Birthday were all highlights. With parents and volunteers, 37 individuals attended this beautiful beginning.
